Takakazu Kinashi | Timeline

Takakazu Kinashi (March 7, 1902 – July 26, 1944), was a submarine commander in the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. He is noted for the sinking of the American aircraft carrier, USS Wasp and destroyer USS O'Brien and severely damaging the battleship USS North Carolina with a single spread of six torpedoes as captain of the I-19 in 1942. His name is sometimes transliterated as "Takaichi Kinatsu" (Intro from Wikipedia)

March 4, 1944 - Off Cape Finisterre - surfaced I-29 is iluminated by a patrol plane but escapes
March 9, 1944 - Bay of Biscay - Enters too early in the Bay of Biscay and is forced to spend the night at the bottom
March 10, 1944 - Off Cape Penas - I-29 is escorted by 5 Ju-88C and ships. Survive Mosquito and B-24 attack
March 11, 1944 - Lorient, France - The I-29 manages to reach Lorient. Berths next to Max Wintermeyer's U-190 in a Keroman Bunker
The germans offer Kinashi and his crew a banquet
