Guy Fawkes | Timeline

Guy Fawkes (13 April 1570 – 31 January 1606), also known as Guido Fawkes while fighting for the Spanish, was a member of a group of provincial English Catholics who planned the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605. It is to be found on battlefields from Morocco to Bad Tölz…. Now, more than half the Germans were Nazis and we would be in a hell of a fix if we removed all Nazi party members from office. The way I see it, this Nazi question is very much like a Democrat and Republican election fight. To get things done in Bavaria, after the complete disorganization and disruption of four years of war, we had to compromise with the devil a little. We had no alternative but to turn to the people who knew what to do and how to do it. So, for the time being we are compromising with the devil…. I don’t like the Nazis any more than you do. I despise them. In the past three years I did my utmost to kill as many of them as possible. Now we are using them for lack of anyone better until we can get better people.”
September 28, 1945 - Frankfurt - Patton is summoned to Eisenhower's HQ after his press conference declarations. After a heated exchange with Eisenhower over his statements, Patton is relieved of his military governorship

December 8, 1945 - near Speyer | Heidelberg - On the way to a farewell to Europe hunting trip with Major General Hobart Gay, Patton's car collides with an american army truck at low speed. Paton is hit in his head on the glass partition in the back seat. He begins bleeding from a gash to the head, and complains he was paralyzed and having trouble breathing. Taken to the hospital in Heidelberg, Patton was discovered to have broken his neck and a cervical spinal cord injury that paralyzed him from the neck down
December 20, 1945 - Heidelberg - It is necessary to give him oxygen to restore his breathing and x-rays reveal that a small pulmonary embolism had obstructed his upper right lung
December 21, 1945 - Heidelberg - After spending 12 days in spinal traction to decrease the pressure on his spine, George S. Patton dies in his sleep of pulmonary edema and congestive heart failure, aged 60 =(END)
