Francis Xavier
(born Francisco de Jasso y Azpilicueta; Basque: Frantzisko Xabierkoa; Spanish: Francisco Javier; Portuguese: Francisco Xavier; 7 April 1506 – 3 December 1552), venerated as Saint Francis Xavier, was a Navarrese Catholic missionary and saint who was a co-founder of the Society of Jesus. The Roman Catholic Church considers that it has converted more people to Christianity than any other missionary since St. Paul, deserving the epithet "Apostle of the Orient". He carried out his missionary activity especially in Portuguese India and Japan.

December(?) 1(?), 1542 - Kombuthurai, Tamil Nadu - Miracle atributed to Francis Xavier when visiting Kombuthurai: A pattangatti lady was suffering from labour for nearly three days. He baptized her and her family and within a short time, she delivered a child. Due to this miracle, the whole of this village along with its headmen and prince of the land converted to Christianity. Since then he visited the village numerous times. The second miracle is believed to be the greatest miracle that Francis Xavier ever performed. A boy named Matthew drowned in the well which is called well of miracle (or well of baptism) by the pattangatti, and was brought into the church just before mass, and through Francis Xavier's prayer, he was revived from death

July 10(?), 1552 - Malacca - After arriving in Malacca, Xavier is was confronted by the captain Álvaro de Ataíde da Gama who now had total control over the harbour. The captain refused to recognize his title of Nuncio, asked Pereira to resign from his title of ambassador, named a new crew for the ship, and demanded the gifts for the Chinese Emperor be left in Malacca
