Annie Oakley | Timeline

Annie Oakley (born Phoebe Ann Mosey; August 13, 1860 – November 3, 1926) was an American sharpshooter and exhibition shooter. Her talent first came to light when at age 15 she won a shooting match against traveling-show marksman Frank E. Butler, whom she later married. The couple joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West show a few years later. Oakley became a renowned international star, performing before royalty and heads of state. (Intro from Wikipedia).

October 25, 1874 - Greenville - Phoebe's mother marries for the third time, to Joseph Shaw
November 25, 1875 - Cincinnati - Performance of the Baughman & Butler shooting act. Traveling show marksman and former dog trainer Frank E. Butler (1847–1926), an Irish immigrant, places a $100 bet per side with hotel owner Jack Frost that Butler could beat any local fancy shooter. January(?) 1(?), 1912 - Cambridge, Maryland - The Butlers build a ranch-style house in Cambridge, Maryland
October 4, 1913 - Cambridge, Maryland - Annie Oakley retires to the house in Cambridge, Maryland
January(?) 1(?), 1915 - Pinehurst, North Carolina - Annie Oakley and Frank Butler are hired to work in Pinehurst at the skeet and trap shoot range
March 5, 1922 - Pinehurst, North Carolina - Shoots 98 out of 100 clay targets in a shooting demonstration

April 16, 1922 - Pinehurst, North Carolina - Shoots 100 clay targets in a row from 15 meters in a shooting contest
October 5, 1922 - Brockton, Massachusetts - Oakley is paid $700 for five exhibitions lasting 5 minutes each
November 9, 1922 - Jacksonville | near Daytona Beach, Florida - Annie Oakley and Frank Butler arrive in Jacksonville by boat. Shortly later, The Butlers suffer a car accident on their way to Leesburg, that forces Annie to wear a steel brace on her right leg
October 8, 1923 - Leesburg, Florida - 10 months after the accident, Oakley stuns the crowds with her rifle
November 3, 1926 - Greenville, Ohio - Annie Oakley dies of pernicious anemia, aged 66 =(END)
